Frequently Asked Questions
What is Lima?
Lima is a B2B platform for schools and language programs. Teachers plan and publish tasks from a class page. Students complete speaking, listening, reading, and writing work and get feedback. Teachers follow up with class progress and insights.
How does Lima work day to day?
Teachers use Lima Flow to draft tasks with Co-Pilot or publish from a syllabus with Agent. Students complete tasks in class. Speaking runs as a live AI conversation. Listening, reading, and writing use generated content and auto-graded responses. Both sides see feedback and progress on the same class page.
What kinds of feedback do students get?
After each task, students receive reports with scores and next steps. Speaking feedback covers pronunciation, fluency, grammar, and task completion. Feedback is designed to arrive quickly while the session is still fresh.
What languages are supported?
English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.
Can Lima be used in classrooms?
Yes. Lima is built for schools and universities. For speaking tasks, a quieter room and headphones help both the student and the AI pick up clear audio.
How is my data used and protected?
Data is used only to run our services and provide learning feedback. Passwords are encrypted. Conversation audio may be stored for review by students and teachers, then deleted after two weeks. We do not sell your data. Read our full privacy policy for details.
Do I need special equipment?
No. Lima works on computers, tablets, and phones with a standard microphone. Headphones are recommended for speaking practice.
How can teachers track progress?
Each class has a Progress tab with completion rates, trends by skill, and student-level insight from real submissions. Teachers can see who needs follow-up and what to teach next.
Does Lima include assessments?
Yes. Teachers can schedule timed Lima exams for a class. Students work through speaking, listening, reading, and writing in order. Certificates are available from the results page when an exam is complete.
